While swimming is a fun activity, it’s important that children know how to swim correctly so they can be safe in the water. That’s where our group swim lessons come into play. Students will work together with our swim instructor(s) in a two week group setting.
Our instructors emphasize comfort and security in the water as well as teaching the children good technique.

-All students must bring their own goggles to each group lesson.

Level 1/2
Level 1
Students develop comfort with underwater exploration and learn to safely exit in the event of falling into a body of water in level 1. This level lays the foundation that allows for a student's future progress in swimming.
Prerequisites: is comfortable working with an instructor without a parent in the water but will not go underwater voluntarily.
Level 2

In level 2, students focus on body position and control, directional change, and forward movement in the water while also continuing to practice how to safely exit in the event of falling into a body of water.
Prerequisites: will go underwater voluntary but cannot do a front and back float on his or her own.
Level 3/4
Level 3

In level 3, students learn how to swim to safety from a longer distance than in previous levels in the event of falling into a body of water. This level also introduces rhythmic breathing and integrated arm and leg action.
Prerequisites: can do a front and back float on his or her own but cannot swim 10-15 yards on his or her front and back.
Level 4

Students in level 4 develop stroke technique in front crawl and back crawl and learn the breaststroke kick and butterfly kick. Water safety is reinforced through treading water and elementary backstroke.
Prerequisites: can swim 10-15 yards on his or her front and back but cannot swim 15 yards of front and back crawl.
Level 5/6
Level 5
Students in level 5 work on stroke technique and learn all major competitive strokes. The emphasis on water safety continues through treading water and sidestroke.
Prerequisites: can swim 15 yards of front and back crawl and have learned breaststroke and butterfly
kick, but cannot swim front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke across the pool.
Level 6
Students in level 6 refine stroke technique on all major competitive strokes, learn about competitive swimming, and discover how to incorporate swimming into a healthy lifestyle.
Prerequisites: can swim front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke across the pool, but cannot swim front crawl, back crawl and breaststroke across the pool and back.

If the instructor feels that your child is not in the appropriate class for their skill level, the instructor will move them to a different level.
